Alcoholism/Addiction is a family disease with negative implications for the alcoholic/addict and their family members. The addicted individual produces significant stress on family members, friends and significant others, who often (in response) adopt unhealthy emotions or roles as means to cope with the addict and their substance abuse.
This vicious and destructive merry-go-round of addiction has to be stopped in order for families to live an emotionally-healthy life.
Families are invited to attend a Family Day (on the first Friday of each month) to receive education regarding the disease of addiction, and participate in family group sessions.
Family involvement is integral at every stage of treatment, ensuring a more positive recovery prognosis for both the individual struggling with addiction and their loved ones.
See our new patient packet for more info on Family Day.
